Cutrine Plus Granular is for use in lakes and potable water reservoirs: Farm, Fish and Fire Ponds, and Fish Hatcheries Especially for control of Chara, Nitella, and bottom growths of filamentous algae. LARGE AREA TREATMENT Apply at the rate of 60 pounds per acre (67.2 kg per ha). Distribute evenly over the water surface directly over the vegetation to be treated. A dry fertilizer spreader may be used to insure even distribution. Chara and Nitella should be treated early in the season. As the season progresses they become very resistant. Under usual circumstances a single application per season to treatment sector is all that is necessary. To avoid suffocation of fish due to lack of oxygen caused by decaying vegetation, never treat more that 1/3 to 1/2 of a lake or pond at a time. Allow sufficient time between treatments for oxygen levels to recover (usually 1 - 2 weeks). Begin treatment along the shore and proceed outwards in bands to allow fish to move into untreated areas. Consult your State Fish and Game Agency before applying this product to public waters. SPOT TREATMENT Apply directly over infested area at the rate of 1 pound per 720 square feet (72’ x 10’) (6.8 g per m2). Heavy growth may require re-treatment.
