The Balanced Approach to Setting Yourself Up for Success
Harrell’s Balanced Approach Annual Programs are your prescription for year-long nutrition. Using your soil, tissue and water samples, we dial in your specific needs for a turf health program with a combination of granular fertilizer, wetting agents, foliar nutritionals, soil amendments, adjuvants & colorants, and plant protectants.
Over the last two summers, Harrell’s has created two different greens programs that were put to the test at Clemson and NC State University. In 2017, an Ultradwarf greens fertility and fungicide program was examined by Dr. Bruce Martin at Clemson. This was created as a "cover your bases" approach, and applications were tested at full and half rate.
The turf quality was measured throughout the trial, and was and noticeably better over time. The same approach was conducted this summer at NC State in collaboration with Dr. Kerns on Bentgrass greens. The results have been consistent with Harrell’s Title Phyte in the tank, and the turf quality in both trials was significantly improved.
With many superintendents and turf managers preparing for the fall and winter seasons, now is a great time to review and reflect on your greens programs. This is even more important with budgets due and the never-ending talk of EOP program savings.
Harrell’s has stepped up to the plate, putting these two programs to the test with two of the top turf schools in the southeast and the results speak for themselves. Team Harrell’s has broken down the number of products needed for your annual greens program along with highlighting the savings utilizing manufacturer EOP programs.
With Harrell’s Balanced Approach Annual Programs, turf managers can target specific disease threats while knowing exactly when to make those applications for maximum prevention. Utilizing a program that has been backed by research by the best in the business can help take the guesswork out of a yearlong program!
Take the time to review your programs with your Harrell’s rep to find out about the possibility of incorporating newer chemistries, and to discuss product watering needs for your program.
