#ThankASuper | Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day - September 13, 2022

Every year around this time, we take a day to honor golf
course management professionals on social media. Now, anyone who has been in
the industry for a while knows that a single social media holiday isn’t nearly
enough to say thank you to all of the hard-working crews who battle weather,
disease, tournament stress and more to keep playing conditions pristine.
At Harrell’s, we are especially grateful for golf course
superintendents. We are blessed to work with GCSIs across the world to create
and implement agronomic plans. Furthermore, many of our Harrell’s reps are
former golf course superintendents. So, between working in the role and serving
those who do, we have firsthand knowledge of all that goes into the job.
The supers we serve are some of the most hardworking people
we know. They are up before the sun and work around the clock to keep their
courses ready for play. This year, golf course superintendents have faced down
labor shortages, supply chain issues, weather challenges, and more, all with
more rounds being played and increased pressure on their courses.
Their work during the pandemic and beyond has allowed so
many people to get outside, reconnect with each other, with nature, and
continue to enjoy the game, despite everything going on in the world.
On September 13, 2022, the Golf Course Superintendents
Association of America (GCSAA) celebrates its 96th anniversary and joins global
golf organizations in “recognizing those who help keep golf courses enjoyable
and sustainable.”

Joining the GCSAA in #ThankASuper day are the British and
International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA), the Australia Sports Turf
Managers Association (ASTMA), the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association
(CGSA) and The Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers Associations (FEGGA).
The celebration includes commercial and social media messages,
which are nice. But we all know that a personal “thank you” is worth more than
a million likes or retweets. So, today, we encourage you to seek out your GCSI
and thank them for their tireless work.
To spread the message, share your thanks on social media
using the hashtag #ThankASuper or #ThankAGreenkeeper. Tag @harrellsllc and
we’ll share your post on our platforms, too!
