POLYON® - Nutrient Overdose Greenhouse Study

Study: | Effects of nutrient overdoses on HLB-infected Valencia on UFR-3 rootstock after 1 year |
Location: | Lake Alfred, FL |
Collaborator: | Jude Grosser, PhD (UF|IFAS CREC) |
Date: | 2015 |
Preliminary greenhouse experiment to investigate the potential of micronutrient overdoses to improve the health of HLB-infected Valencia sweet orange on UFR-3 trees. Control treatments of biannual applied Harrell’s 16-5-10 blend or biweekly liquid fertilizer. Other treatments Harrell’s 16-5-10 blend supplemented with biannual treatments of triple recommended dose of Florikan or Tiger-Sul micronutrients. The treatment 16-5-10 blend with 3x Tiger-Sul Mn had the best visual results and longest average total root length determined by WinRHIZO (not statistically significant). The Harrell’s 16-5-10 blend alone had 24% greater average root length than biweekly liquid fertilizer (not statistically significant).
