In the fall of 2012, Harrell’s Mid-Atlantic golf sales representatives held an educational seminar at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in New York. During recreational portions of the seminar, the reps conducted a raffle fundraiser spear-headed by John Keeler and Peter Salinetti. The fundraiser was in support of the Wounded Warrior Project. Over 150 turfgrass managers attended the seminar and supported the fundraiser by contributing $2,140.00! Harrell’s matched their efforts and a donation of $5000.00 has been made in honor of the men and women of 5th Squadron 7th Cavalry Regiment, who are deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“The Squadron was re-activated in 2004 as part of 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Since then, the unit has deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. The Soldiers have answered the call again to defend our freedom, this time in a new combat environment. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families.” says Peter Salinetti. The Wounded Warrior’s mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. The program seeks to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
Special thanks to our customers who participated in the fundraiser and our Mid-Atlantic team for their efforts and support of the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information about the Wounded Warrior Project, please visit www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
