For more than 65 years, Polk County Florida Youth Fair has provided youth from organizations such as 4-H, Future Farmers of America, and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America  with the opportunity to display exhibits of their work in agricultural and home economics projects. This year more than 1,182 local kids registered projects in the fair that was held in late January.

Of the many fairs available for kids to exhibit their projects, Polk County Youth Fair is one that promotes horticulture and more specifically the ornamental division of horticulture. At Harrell’s representatives from our horticulture division work with ornamental growers throughout the eastern U.S. to produce a large variety of the ornamentals found in local nurseries, big box retail stores and in wholesale centers.

In addition Harrell’s launched the Turf & Landscape Division in 2010 to support landscape business owners who maintain commercial and residential green spaces.   Brad Babicz, Harrell’s Turf & Landscape Representative in West Central Florida, attended the Polk County Youth Fair and is pleased to have had the opportunity to represent Harrell’s in supporting the horticulture efforts of Allyson Polston of Polk City 4-H, Emily Goble of Lake Gibson Sr. FFA, Mollie Tew of Hoof-N-Horn 4-H, and Anthony Gineo of Lake Gibson Sr. FFA through the purchase of their projects in the annual sale. Congratulations to all the entrants!
