Professional Bio: During my Ph.D. in Switzerland (University of Fribourg) and postdoctoral position at the Boyce Thompson Institute (Cornell, USA), I worked to understand the phosphate and nitrogen regulation allowing arbuscular mycorrhizal establishment inside the root. I find mycorrhizal interactions with land plants fascinating because fossil evidence shows their presence in plants million years ago, with similar internal structures. Working with turfgrasses at the University of Minnesota, I would like to apply my mycorrhizal expertise to develop novel applications, such as using mycorrhizal inoculum to facilitate more sustainable management practices for lawns, greens, fairway and rough.
