Is it a giant mosquito? Or is it a crane fly?
Today's episode Dr. Jeff Atkinson and Dr. Raymond Snyder discuss with Dr. Ben McGraw at Penn State University a problematic pest which is expanding in range, but doesn't yet have the geographic distribution of other more commonly known insects: the European Crane Fly.
Dr. Ben McGraw is an Associate Professor of Turfgrass Science at Penn State University. Dr. McGraw’s areas of expertise include turfgrass entomology, insect behavior, biological control, cultural and mechanical control, insect ecology, and insecticide resistance. His research program focuses on understanding the biology and ecology of turfgrass insect populations to improve current management practices and develop novel, sustainable management, and monitoring programs.
