Time to Get Back to Sports

All indications are that sports will be restarting in the coming weeks. Hopefully, you’ve followed our advice and have the best stand of turf you’ve ever had. Hopefully, you can look at your user groups and say, “see, I’ve been trying to tell you, grass grows by the inch and dies by the foot!” If that’s where you are, congrats! You’ve managed through the strangest of times.
Take this opportunity to take your program to the next level with one more aerification prior to play, or consult with your Harrell’s rep to drop a color bomb on your turf just as athletes return to your fields…actually, even if you haven’t been able to manage the way you’d like, those would both still be pretty good ideas. My favorite color bomb is 3.2oz each of Harrell’s Bio-MAX 12-0-6®, Harrell’s MAX® Nitrate Plus, Harrell’s MAX® Potassium Plus Calcium 4-0-8, and Harrell’s MAX® IronMn Mg, but your rep can help you identify the best combination for your part of the country. This is also an opportunity to reroute your user groups as they enter and exit your facilities/fields. If we can retrain the masses to obey one-way aisles at the grocery store, then we can definitely implement strategies to manage people in our high-traffic, off-the-playing-surface areas.
But most of all, remain diligent—wash your hands, wear a mask if you can, and practice social distancing as best you can. If we don’t play football this fall, the economics of sports turf management may not survive.
