Although we cannot be familiar with all legal guidelines in your specific location, below is an example of one of the tools we use internally. If you read anything you like, feel free to adapt and use with your team.
Here are some questions you can use to learn more about potential hires. Feel free to add your own suggestions at the bottom of the page… what do you ask your job candidates?
- What are the top 3-5 things you would do during your first week in this position?
- Who has had the biggest influence on your career?
- Why do you think you would be a good fit for this position?
- What has been your biggest frustration or disappointment in your current job?
- What has been your biggest success in your current job?
- Tell us about a mentor that you had. What did he/she do, specifically, that made him/her a good mentor and to help motivate you to be successful?
- Briefly describe a situation at work where you took a risk.
- Did you ever get into a situation where you felt “in over your head?” What did you do in that situation?
- What do you like to do in your free time?
- What are the things that bother you the most about people?
- What kind of people do you work with best?
- If you had only one word to describe yourself, what would that be?
- What about yourself would you like to improve most?
- What makes you lose your temper? Tell me about the last time it happened.
- If you had no economic or practical considerations and you could have nay job you wanted, what would it be?
- How are you unique?
